East Lake Comprehensive Bonded Zone was established on August 29, 2011 with the approval of the State Council. It is the first comprehensive bonded zone in Hubei Province. On January 15, 2013, 1.82 square kilometers of the first phase of the start-up area passed the joint acceptance of 10 ministries and commissions, and was officially closed on June 29 of that year. The second phase of 3.36 square kilometers passed the joint inspection organized by the provincial government on December 27 last year. It is planned to have bonded processing area, bonded logistics area, bonded service area and other functional areas. With the acceptance and operation of the second phase, the Donghu Comprehensive Bonded Zone will inject new vitality into the construction of Hubei Free Trade Zone, promote the reform dividend and opening up dividend to more widely benefit more enterprises and citizens, and provide a broader space for Hubei to build an inland open highland.
